Soulful Trio – Alex Kathilu. Page # i - The Afro-centric feminine aspect of The Trinity! This portrait displays the culture-specific manifestation of females’ direct reflection of the Holy Trinity. The choir not only sets the stage for The Word of God to be taught, but they open the spirits of the listeners to be both receptive and accepting of the Spirit of God toward proper translation and interpretation of God’s Word. Christ being the bridegroom is received through the ministry of His Church; likewise, a man is received through the integrity of his wife, woman! The threefold ministry displayed here captures the often underappreciated roles of a woman toward not only her husband, man, but the body of Christ as well.
Mindful By Barry Trotter. Page # xi - The stillness of life that brings peace! This concentrational sketch reflects peace in the stillness of a man’s mind. Its simplistic nature signifies the simple state of mind that humbles itself as a child. To be still in a world ever so mobile seems simplistically complex. However, the simple nature of a child warrants, imparts, and justifies peace. Yet we seldom decrease our throttles to recognize God’s brilliance and magnificents. This piece portrays peace of mind in a state of mind that is considerate of its surroundings while sitting still.
Poet By Alex Kathilu. Page # 2 - The facets of a black man! This is truly a phenomenal portrait of which displays the multifaceted nature of a black man with talent. The colors that stem from him represent his facets, creativity, talents, ideas, and thoughts. His ruggedness represents how he is viewed by society. This piece is an outstanding representation of the power and influence the world shuns on.
High Note By Alex Kathilu. Page # 53 - The silent screams of a woman gone unnoticed! This dramatized display of cultural femininity portrays the depths of a woman’s pain. Whether she is wifing a husband, mothering a child, manning a post, serving a family, protecting a man’s insecurities, battling disease, or occupying a throne; her materialized silence is an internalized scream. She yells in high notes in the midst of no-man’s land only to be heard by herself. This piece symbolizes the ongoing commitment and longsuffering that goes hand-in-hand with being a true and virtuous woman of God.
Testify By Alex Kathilu. Page # 45 - The call to discipleship! This piece displays the earnest plea of one called by God to teach His Word and impress upon His people the urgency of repentance and citizenship in the Kingdom of God, salvation! It is a teacher’s most important and pressing responsibility to earnestly, fervently, diligently, and lovingly call sinners to repentance. This portrait paints a powerful picture of the divine ordinance to win sinners to Christ.
