Mr. Johnson has been reading, writing, reciting, and performing poetry/spoken word for over fifteen years. Leander has written well over two thousand poems. He has been nominated by The National Poet’s Society for poet of the year and invited to recite his authentic work before thousands of people for the past five years. Leander has traveled throughout the states reciting and performing his authentic work to audiences of all nationalities. He says, and I quote, “Poetry is an expression of my thoughts, emotions, and experiences as perceived through the windows of my soul!” Mr. Johnson has also written numerous personalized poems for birthdays, events, special occasions, and request-specific circumstances.
Personal Acquisition
Mr. Leander D. Johnson was born on the 24th day of September. Though Oklahoma City, Oklahoma is his indigenous, Leander was educated on the flatlands of Ardmore; Nurtured amid the elders; Fostered in the medium of quandary; Erudited by the streets and the system; Delimited by poverty's brood; Outfitted with the acumen of the pious; Provoked by triumph; Stimulated by the lexis of the shrewd; Frenzied in mêlée; Obscured in tomfoolery; Befuddled by burdens, yet he has permeated. Leander has tackled mortality four times; Stood by as loved ones passed on; Wailed when times got ruff; Detained his own on the vanguard; Presumed the lead when them before him fell; Desisted from the carnage of gangs; Acquired thangs; Agitated thangs; Conveyed thangs; Fixed thangs; Looked malevolence in the ogle and beamed; Endured the thrashes of whips; Surfaced from the side of dogs. His invasions are numerous, yet not an iota can trudge with him. Mr. Johnson’s continued existence is not of his own potency, but to God be the grandeur. Leander’s solitary contribution to the affair is an exploited ewer to subsist and impart the legend. The yarn of the Black Man; The narrative of the Colored Man; The chronicle of the Negro Man; The anecdote of the Afro-Centric Man; The account of the Afrikan Man; The tale of the Man; The Man that can revolutionize positions and compose requisitions for diffusion to fashion a vision; An apparition of assuage competition, rightful jurisdiction, and an acute lack of division, racism, and the oscillation of prolific living.
Personal Poetic Signature
Leander, when writing, reciting, and/or performing, signs off with the phrase, “Life & Love! Bless Up!” The former part of this phrase, “Life & Love!” serves as a method of speaking life and love into the lives of his listeners and readers. The latter part of the signature, “Bless Up!” simply serves to direct the attention of those listening or reading toward the direction from winced blessings flow. Life & Love! Bless Up!
